• Season and demand. Peak season, roughly mid-December to late January, Easter, Tasmanian school holidays, and long weekends, can lift the daily rate by 30 to 50% above off-peak. Hobart is unusual in that it also has a strong winter demand spike: Dark Mofo, the mid-winter MONA festival, runs 11 to 22 June in 2026 and pushes June rates up sharply, so winter is not automatically cheap. The late-December window is especially tight because the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race finishes at Sullivans Cove in late December and Taste of Summer runs as a week-long food and wine festival over New Year, followed by the Hobart International tennis in January. Shoulder months such as March, April outside Easter, May (excluding the lead-up to Dark Mofo), September, and early November usually deliver the lowest rates for the same vehicle.
• Vehicle class and berth. A 2-berth campervan sits at the bottom of the range, while a 6-berth motorhome with a wet bathroom and full kitchen sits near the top.
